The holiday season officially kicks off in Highlands on Friday, December 5th, 2025, with the community’s Annual Holiday Tree Lighting in Huddy Park. The celebration begins at 6:00 PM, with a rain date scheduled for Saturday, December 6th.
This is one of Highlands’ most loved traditions, a night where neighbors gather, families come out bundled in scarves and hats, and the entire park glows with seasonal cheer. The Highlands Business Community always brings heart to this event, and Huddy Park becomes the perfect backdrop for that first magical moment when the tree lights up the night.
Expect festive music, warm drinks, plenty of holiday spirit, and a moment that officially marks the beginning of the Christmas season along the Monmouth County coast. It’s a great opportunity to bring the kids, meet up with friends, enjoy the crisp December air, and feel that “small coastal town at the holidays” charm that makes Highlands so special.
Whether you’re new to town or have been coming to the tree lighting for years, this event is a highlight of the season and a reminder of how strong and connected our community is.
Bundle up, grab a warm drink, and come join the fun as Highlands lights up the holidays.
