HIGHLANDS, NJ — Highlands residents will have the chance to learn more about the community’s flooding vulnerability and future protection plans at a Special Public Meeting scheduled for Monday, October 7, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at Henry Hudson Regional High School, 1 Grand Tour, Highlands, NJ 07732.

Borough officials, along with representatives from the State of New Jersey and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), will present information on current challenges and proposed projects aimed at reducing flood risk.

The session is also intended to give residents important context ahead of the non-binding ballot question on the USACE Floodwall Project, which will appear on the November 5, 2024 General Election ballot.

Highlands community members are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and share their perspectives. Public feedback will help guide how the Borough addresses long-term resiliency and waterfront protection.

📊 Residents are also invited to provide input by completing the Borough’s Flooding Vulnerability Survey here: Take the survey.
