Foodtown shared the news directly with customers on Facebook, writing:
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that our Port Monmouth store will be permanently closing on or about October 24. We are so thankful for the support and kindness this community has shown us over the years, and we truly hope to see you at our other locations in Atlantic Highlands and Red Bank.”
The company emphasized that its nearby stores in Atlantic Highlands and Red Bank will remain open, offering continued service for loyal customers.
For Highlands residents who often travel Route 36 or commute through Middletown, the change means adjusting grocery routines — though the Atlantic Highlands Foodtown, less than 10 minutes away, will likely be the most convenient alternative.
