This was my third visit to Sea & Sand in Highlands, NJ — and once again, it was an incredible experience. The restaurant’s cozy lighting, welcoming staff, and beautifully plated dishes make it one of the gems of the area. Each visit seems to get better, and this one was no exception.
Appetizer: Chicken Lollipop
Crispy, flavorful, and perfectly sauced — a true crowd favorite. The tangy glaze has just the right amount of heat, and the foil-wrapped presentation gives it that extra touch. A must-try starter every time I come here.
Chicken Malai Tikka
The Chicken Malai Tikka was grilled, soft, and lightly seasoned, simple yet delicious. It had a clean, balanced flavor that let the quality of the chicken stand out. Served sizzling hot over shredded cabbage and carrots, it was both light and satisfying. It’s great for protein lovers.
Main Course: Murg Mussalam
A hearty, spice-forward curry that delivers warmth and depth in every bite. Paired with basmati rice and naan, this dish really captures the authentic taste of India with a Highlands twist.
Drink: Virgin Mojito
Served on the house — refreshing, minty, and crisp. The Virgin Mojito was the perfect companion to balance out the exotics flavors of the meal.
Dessert: Rasmalai & Rose Kulfi
Indian desserts are the best. A perfect way to end the night — the Rasmalai was soft, creamy, and lightly sweet, while the Rose Kulfi added a fragrant, floral touch that elevated the dessert course. Together, they brought a refreshing and elegant finish to an already outstanding meal.

This amazing meal was prepared by Head Chef Premjit Namdev Khaire, who was born in Mumbai into a family of chefs. As a third-generation Indian cuisine chef, he brings both authenticity and artistry to every dish. His passion for cooking truly shines through in every bite.
